Case study Visit website

At a Glance

My first work as freelance developer. Niamdiorokhvillage.com is a promotional website for a turistic village in the Sine Saloum region, Senegal. My work included site/logo redesign and web development (ASP.Net).

The Challenge

When Fall Mafall, Niamdiorokh Village owner, approchead me to redesign his website I found that in fact I needed to rebuild all from scratch. The old website was developed with Microsoft Publisher and had very outdated graphics and contents. It was also very difficult to navigate, slow and poorly optimized for search engines.

After speaking to Mafall we also decided to redesign the old logo a little bit, giving it a more polished and modern look without going to much away from the old look. You can see the old logo below:

The Solution

The old logo had two main strong items: the fish (Niamdiorokh Village is located on the Sine-Saloum river, famous for its fish varieties) and the national colours of Senegal. In my logo redesign I kept these two elements while trying to enhance the overall graphic style and presentation.

Speaking of the website I decided to give it an “adventure diary” like look as people who chose a vacation in Africa will most likely want an adventurous experience. To obtain this look I used a lot of grunge graphical elements like sheet of paper, tags, clips, etc.

The site was developed using ASP.Net 2.0 and C# and optimized for search engines.
